34 weeks

One month to go! This is what we're doing to prepare for your arrival: Kory and I were busy this week! We've finished everything we can in Baby Keebs' room (pictures below) and we have the hospital bag packed and sitting in the car. Now we wait!

I think I'm officially nesting. I have been trying to get jobs done around the house and get things a little more organized (thankfully Kory is helping!), but I probably haven't gone into full-swing nesting yet. Still no urge to mop all my floors and clean out the refrigerator. Maybe that will come within the next couple weeks.

Other notes: I go back and forth between being ready for my baby girl to be here and not wanting to give up being pregnant yet. I so greatly enjoy feeling her squirming around in my belly and being the only one this close to her. I'm not sure I'm ready to share her yet! Then again I won't miss having to get up 3-4 times a night for pee breaks and leg cramps. (Yes, I realize these will be replaced with getting up to take care of my baby girl, but I'll have help, or at least company, at those times.) I'll also be happy to roll over easier in bed and have the occasional Diet Coke. Obviously these are trivial things, but as the weeks wind down, I find myself looking forward to them. Plus I just can't wait to see what my little girl looks like!

Three more weeks and I will be much more comfortable knowing she is full term and I have done my job of getting her there safely. It's always been a big question in the back of my mind and I'll be happy to share the "responsibility" of her safety once she's here.

So keep growing healthy and strong, Baby Keebs. We'll see you in a matter of weeks! We love you very much!

Check out the nursery!

A surf board with Baby Keebs' name on it will go above her crib...once we can announce her name.

33 weeks

Weight gain to date: 17 pounds

Latest news: This weekend was Father's Day and we were busy! We crammed a ton in as usual, but Baby Keebs doesn't seem to mind. It's not really like she has much of a choice! Kory enjoyed his first happy Father's Day and is happy to spend the next month or so enjoying his new video game without interruptions. After Baby Keebs gets here, we can't make any promises, daddy!

We were also able to take our maternity pictures. I've been wanting to get these done for weeks and something else was always coming up. Meg was able to be our photographer for the afternoon and we got some awesome shots! I am so happy with how they turned out! Take a look for yourself:

32 weeks

This is, as Kory calls it, my "big Momma belly."

Latest craving(s): Well as anyone could guess, since my carb count has been limited, I've been craving the worst kind. For the last week or so all I can think about is ice cream and Dunkin' Donuts. I've held off on the donuts (mainly because we don't have a good one by us), but I have definitely succumbed to the ice cream a few times. The good part is I know how to adjust the rest of my day (for the most part) to make up for it.

Estimated size of baby: The doctor hasn't given me an estimate as in pounds. He just says I have a nice little bowling ball growing. He thinks he's very funny! The books all say she should be around 4 pounds, maybe 5--they're all different. I definitely feel like I'm carrying that much, but I just don't see how it fits in my belly!

Other: Not much else to report this week. I have noticed I can't see my feet anymore unless I really bend forward. Also if I want to see what the scale says, I have to wait until I step off of it. I thought you might all get a kick out of that!

Baby Keebs, Daddy and I are getting very excited for your arrival. Please keep growing healthy and strong until at least mid-July! Grandma K will definitely appreciate it if you wait until after the Kebert family shower. :) We love you very very VERY much little girl!

30 & 31 weeks...and Baby Shower #1

31 weeks - Memorial Day

30 weeks

Weight gain to date: 14 pounds... Yes, I realize that is headed the wrong direction. Apparently my body was holding on to a LOT of unnecessary carbs. The new diet has gotten rid of those. The doctor says it's fine and I will start gaining weight again once my body adjusts. Baby Keebs is growing right on track though!

I am now most comfortable sleeping: on my side, but I'll take it any way I can get it. I still have energy during the day which is nice (I think the new diet has helped here!), but getting comfortable enough to sleep great is generally out of the question. My rolling over ability should probably be part of a 3-ring circus!

I am now getting up to pee about 2 times a night. Occasionally there is a night where I'll get up more or less, but a typical night includes two times of getting out of bed and heading down the hall.

Other: This week Mom and Meg (and Dad, Cary, and Steph) threw us an amazing baby shower. This day has been a big milestone for me for a while because I had started thinking I was never going to make it that far. I am so glad that we have and my family did everything they could to make it as special as possible. We appreciated it SOOOOO much!

Here are some pictures to show off all their hard work and our fun time.

The beautiful women who made it all possible...and me and Baby Keebs.

This was the awesome cake Meg had made for us. It's the sun setting on the beach to go along with our Jimmy Buffet nursery. Beautiful and tasty! You can also see the Hawaiian diaper cake that her and Steph made...those flowers are hair clips for Baby Keebs!

White chocolate suckers that Mom, Dad, and Meg worked on for a week. Getting the sugar sparkles in the mold required a spotlight and magnifying glass!

White and milk chocolate shells they also made throughout the week.

Opening presents. This tiny colorful dress just may be Baby Keebs' picture outfit.

This is the amazing cradle my dad made us! You'll have to come see it in person to truly appreciate the craftsmanship...it's amazing.
